Why Sukhothai Timepiece

What You Receive
When You Trust Us With Your Watch

The difference between a watch repair and a considered service is in the details — what is documented, what is explained, and who holds the tool.

Core Advantages

Six Things We Do Consistently

Single Watchmaker Accountability

Your watch is handled personally by our principal watchmaker from assessment through to final check. It does not pass through multiple hands with partial knowledge of its history.

Written Service Record

Every service includes a written summary — what was done, what was found, and what the owner should be aware of. This record stays with the watch's history.

Pre-Work Agreement

No work begins without your understanding and agreement. Scope and cost are confirmed in writing before tools are raised. Unexpected findings are discussed before proceeding.

Grade-Specific Lubrication

Horological lubricants are selected by movement type and manufacturer specification. We do not use single-grade oils across all calibres — incorrect lubrication causes long-term wear.

Post-Service Timing Test

Mechanical movements are tested on a timing machine after regulation. Results — amplitude, beat error, rate per day — are included in your written summary.

Documented Custody

Every watch is catalogued and receipted on intake. It is stored in a secure, climate-controlled space. At collection, the receipt is matched before the watch is returned.

Expertise

Fifteen Years, One Focus

Watch repair is a narrow discipline. General jewellers and electronics shops often perform basic maintenance, but complex mechanical work requires specific training, correct tools, and an accumulated familiarity with different calibres. Our watchmaker has trained formally and applied that training across a wide range of movements over fifteen years.

This is not a secondary service offered alongside jewellery or phone repairs. The atelier exists for watches only.

  • Formal watchmaking training — Chiang Mai, Swiss-qualified instruction
  • Experience across Swiss, Japanese, and German calibres
  • Specialist tools — rodico, movement holders, ultrasonic cleaning
  • Timing machine verification for all mechanical work
  • Dedicated workshop — not a counter in a general shop
  • Written quotation before any work begins
  • Scope confirmed — no unexpected additions without discussion
  • Timeline communicated at intake, updates provided if it changes
  • Service summary returned with every watch
  • Signed receipt matched at collection
Process

A Process You Can Follow

Many watch owners have experienced leaving a piece with a repairer and receiving little information about what was found, what was done, or when it might be ready. We find that frustrating on behalf of clients, and we have built our intake and documentation process to address it directly.

From first assessment to collection, each step is documented and communicated. You are never left uncertain about the status of your watch.

Value

Clear Pricing, No Additions

Our three services are priced transparently. The Essential Care Visit, Full Mechanical Service, and Bespoke Restoration Commission each have a stated starting price. For restorations, a specific quote is prepared after assessment. In no case does the final cost exceed what was agreed without prior discussion.

We can also advise honestly when a service is not worth the cost relative to the watch — we would rather say so clearly than take your money for a repair that does not represent good value.

Essential Care Visit from ฿4,500
Full Mechanical Service from ฿10,400
Bespoke Restoration Commission from ฿17,800

Distinctive Features

What Sets the Atelier Apart

Craftsmanship Notes Panel

For Bespoke Restoration Commissions, we maintain a running craftsmanship log — a detailed record of each stage of work, parts sourced, and decisions taken. This travels with the watch at completion.

Free Initial Assessment

We look at every watch at no charge before quoting. This allows us to give accurate pricing based on what the movement actually requires — not a standard schedule applied without inspection.

Parts Sourcing on Your Behalf

For older or less common calibres, we locate correct parts through specialist horological suppliers. We do not substitute with generic components without explaining the difference and getting your agreement.

Clear Language, No Jargon

Technical findings are translated into plain language. You understand what was wrong, what was done, and what to expect — whether or not you know the difference between an escapement and an anchor.
