Khun Somkiat Khunpradit

"Brought in a Seiko automatic that had been running four minutes slow per day. Wiroj explained exactly what he found during the assessment — worn pallet fork jewels and dried lubricant throughout. The full service took about twelve days. It now runs within a few seconds per day, which is better than when I first bought it. The written timing report was a nice touch."

"I had a ladies' quartz watch needing a battery. The care visit was quick — three days — and they also noticed a small chip in the gasket, which was replaced at the same time. The service note they gave me listed everything clearly. The turnaround was slightly longer than I expected initially, but the explanation made sense."

"My father left me his old Omega pocket watch. I was uncertain whether it could be made to run again — one spring was broken and several pivots were worn. The bespoke restoration took about six weeks. Khun Wiroj sourced correct parts from a supplier in Germany and documented every stage. The watch now runs and I have the full record of its restoration. Genuinely glad I did not settle for less."

"I came in not knowing what service my watch needed. The assessment was honest — Wiroj said the movement was in reasonable condition and only needed a care visit, not a full service. I appreciated that he did not push for the more expensive option. The watch was clean and running well when I collected it."

"Dropped off a vintage Tudor that had stopped entirely. The assessment found a damaged mainspring. The full service was completed in about two weeks, with a new mainspring sourced and fitted. They provided timing results across five positions, which I found interesting even if I did not fully understand all of it. Good experience overall."

Korat

"I travel from Bangkok occasionally for business. A colleague in Korat recommended this atelier for a Citizen automatic I have worn daily for twelve years. Khun Panya kept me updated by message while the watch was being serviced, which I found reassuring. The written summary noted a minor dial blemish that had been there for years — I had forgotten about it, but it was good to see it documented."

Bespoke Restoration · Antique Pocket Watch

Challenge

An early 20th-century Swiss pocket watch — inherited from a grandfather — arrived non-functional. The mainspring was broken, two pallet stones were missing, and the dial had surface oxidation. The owner wanted the watch returned to running condition while preserving its original character.

Approach

After detailed assessment, a restoration commission was agreed. Replacement pallet stones were sourced from a horological parts supplier in Switzerland. The mainspring was replaced with a period-appropriate grade. Dial oxidation was treated conservatively — no refinishing, surface character preserved. Full craftsmanship notes maintained throughout.

Outcome

Watch returned running within ±30 seconds per day. Complete craftsmanship notes panel provided. Owner's quote: "I did not expect it to run again. It sits on my desk now and I wind it each morning." Timeline: 7 weeks from commission agreement to return.

Full Mechanical Service · Vintage Automatic

Challenge

A 1970s Japanese automatic presented with severe amplitude loss — the watch would run for only six hours before stopping. Previous service history was unknown. The owner had been told elsewhere it was "not worth fixing" but wanted a second opinion.

Approach

Assessment revealed heavily degraded lubricant throughout the movement — movement serviced likely over twenty years prior, oils had congealed. Full service was recommended. Disassembly confirmed worn click spring; replaced. Full clean, re-oil, and regulated with timing machine verification.

Outcome

Amplitude restored to 265°. Watch now runs approximately 12 days per full wind, within +4 seconds per day in dial-up position. Total service time: 14 days. Owner's note: "Told it was not worth fixing. Glad I asked here first."

Essential Care Visit · Daily Quartz

Challenge

A quartz dress watch worn for formal occasions had not been opened in several years. The crown was stiff and the owner was concerned about water resistance before an upcoming trip. Standard battery replacement requested.

Approach

Assessment found the original battery had leaked — a common issue with older cells. Mild corrosion on the battery contact was cleaned. Crown seal was cracked and replaced. New battery fitted; water resistance pressure test conducted after reassembly.

Outcome

Watch returned water-resistant to original 50m rating, with clean contacts and new cell. Client informed of battery leak damage to contact — minor but documented. Completed in 3 working days. Client: "The leak would not have been caught at a general shop."
